Hardy heat-resistant trail workers of the Buffalo River Back Country Horsemen gathered at the North Maumee canoe launch on July 10-12 to check on the horse trails heading both up and down river from there. The trails were used when BRBCHA rode the 131-mile length of the Buffalo in 2013, but no one seemed to know if they had been used much since then.

The only way to know is to ride ’em! The work crew found both trails to be in better-than-expected shape, and they were able to clip and move downed trees out of the way to make a nice ride in either direction.

Buffalo River BCHA is a service organization dedicated to keeping trails open for stock use. It is one of 174 chapters of BCHA across the country.
