School’s out for summer and it’s all about the kids! Members of Buffalo River Chapter BCHA will celebrate the season with a three day camp out later in June at the Woolum Horse Camp on the middle Buffalo National River.

This will be our third annual Kids Camp where participants of all ages learn about camping with horses (there’s a lot of clean-up involved), riding trails, cooking over a camp fire and practicing Leave No Trace principles. The highlight is an afternoon Play Day with all kinds of fun, easy games on horseback and lots of prizes. Kids can walk, trot, or canter their way through these games, or they can be led by an adult. It’s all in the spirit of fun.

We hope our campers will leave knowing a little more about having fun and being safe with horses and about treading lightly into the wilderness. Mostly, we want them to take away wonderful memories of good friends and fine horses and the caring adults who helped bring them all together.
