Let’s start out with the important items of the day. The homemade desserts by Kathy!!! Pizzelles and Chocolate chip banana nut muffins. Boy, they were delicious. Thank you Kathy. Nine of us met at Hasty parking lot with the intentions of digging out a trail up the embankment at the first river crossing going towards Pruitt.

Better known as the Goat’s Habitat. Check with Tommy and Wanda for more explanations. Horses were ready to go and some were loaded with deadly excavation equipment. After evaluating the situation groundwork began and 30 min. later a brand spanken new trail was delivered. Next on the agenda was to drop off our equipment and head downriver to Carver. All went well for about 100 yards. no trail. Where is Nadean when you need her??? We all scattered out until we heard the call, “TRAIL” . Gathering in a straight line we trotted up the mountain and then again came to an abrupt halt. The trail ended at the powerlines and tons of down trees and limbs blocked our way. Nothing stops a BCH crew and minutes later a new trail was formed. After that our ride was a piece of cake. We rode to the final field before the highway and then turned back. Carol took us to Elm Springs where we all cooled off in the chilly spring water while Edie worked on her log crossing techniques. The return trip had only one minor setback as we missed the trail up the mountain leaving us at the river. At times the trail on the other side of the river was unbearable but CJ was like a bull moose and plowed through the tall thick suffocating weeds and bushes. All started and ended well and we were back at the trailers by 4. yea. Thanks team for all your hard work.
